Creator Content Upload Guide

Welcome to the GEN7 Outdoors content portal! This guide will walk you through every step of uploading and managing your episodes on the platform.

A VERY IMPORTANT WARNING

Please read this carefully before you begin.

Your account gives you access to the content management system for our live television channel. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you follow this guide carefully.

  • DO NOT navigate to or click on any of the other tabs at the top of the screen, such as “Playout Schedule,” “My Channel,” or “Pages.”
  • DO NOT make any changes to categories or video details other than what is covered in this guide.

These sections control the live broadcast, and accidental changes can cause major issues for the entire channel. Please only use the “Videos,” “Reports,” and “My Account” sections as described below.

Section 1: Getting Started

Step 1: Navigate to Your Account

After you log in, you will land on the main “Accounts” page. To begin, click the blue “My Account” button to go to your video dashboard.

Section 3: Uploading Your Video

Step 3: Select Your Video File

From your video dashboard, click the “Upload Videos” button. This will take you to the upload page.

Upload Requirements:

  • File Size Limit: Your video file CANNOT BE OVER 2GB. The upload will fail if it is larger.
  • Recommended Formats: MP4, MKV, or MOV files using H.264 video and AAC audio codecs.

You can either drag and drop your video file into the box or click the “Choose Files” button to select it from your computer. The upload will begin automatically.

Step 4: Manage Your Upload

Once the upload is complete, a green bar will appear. Click the blue “Manage Recent Uploads” button to add your video’s details.

Section 4: Adding Your Video Details

Step 5: Fill Out Your Video Information

This is the most important step for ensuring your show looks professional and is discoverable. Please fill out every field completely and professionally.

  • Title: The main title of your episode (e.g., “Early Season Whitetail Tactics”).
  • Subtitle: Use this for the season and episode number (e.g., “Season 2, Episode 5”).
  • Description: A detailed, professional description of what happens in the episode.
  • Category: Select the category that best fits your video from the dropdown menu.
  • Keywords: A list of relevant keywords separated by commas (e.g., “deer hunting, whitetail, food plots, archery, bowhunting”).

Once finished, click the blue “Apply” button to save.

Section 5: Finalizing and Managing Your Video

Step 6: Video Processing

After saving, you will be taken back to your dashboard. A green bar will inform you that your video is “transcoding” (processing). This usually takes about the same amount of time as the video’s length. Once this time has passed, reload the page.

Step 7: Find Your Video

After reloading, your video will be listed under its correct category. To manage it, simply click on its blue title.

Step 8: Set a Custom Thumbnail

On the individual video page, you can set a custom thumbnail.

  1. Click the play button on the video.
  2. Drag the marker on the video timeline to the exact frame you want to use.
  3. Click the small blue camera icon in the top-left corner of the video player.
  4. A pop-up window will appear showing your selected image. Click “Apply” to confirm the change.

Congratulations, you have successfully uploaded and customized your first episode!

Section 9: Viewing Your Reports

To track the performance of your content, you can access your analytics at any time.

Click the “Reports” tab located in the main navigation bar at the top of the page. There you will find data on the viewership and performance of your videos.

Final Reminder: Please Be Careful!

As a final reminder, please be very careful when using this system. Your access is directly connected to our live channel. Do not explore or click on any tabs outside of the “Videos” and “Reports” sections, and do not make any changes to settings or details not covered in this guide. We appreciate your diligence in helping us keep everything running smoothly.
