This guide walks approved GEN7 Outdoors creators through how to upload GEN7-ready episodes into the creator content portal for review, approval, and distribution across GEN7 Outdoors platforms.

GEN7Outdoors.com is the business, brand, creator, news, sponsor, and company website. GEN7tv.com is the web app where viewers watch GEN7 Outdoors online.

Important Creator Portal Notice

Creator portal accounts are connected to the live GEN7 Outdoors platform. Please only use the approved upload and account areas shown in this guide. Do not make changes to channel settings, playout schedules, pages, or other platform tools unless GEN7 Outdoors has specifically instructed you to do so.

Creator Upload Steps

Use the steps below to upload your episode, add details, review processing, set a thumbnail, check reports, and prepare your content for GEN7 Outdoors review.

Step 1

Log In to the Creator Portal

Log in to your approved GEN7 Outdoors creator account. Once inside the creator portal, navigate to your account dashboard and look for the approved account area shown below.

Only approved GEN7 Outdoors creators should access the creator content portal. Use the login and account areas provided by GEN7 Outdoors.

Step 2

Open Your Video Dashboard

From your account area, open the approved video dashboard. This is where you will upload GEN7-ready episodes and manage submitted videos.

Step 3

Upload Your Episode File

Use the upload screen to drag and drop your episode file or choose the file from your computer. Make sure the video is exported correctly before uploading.

Step 4

Manage Recent Uploads

After the upload finishes, use the Manage Recent Uploads option to continue setting up your episode. This is where you can add or confirm the details needed for review.

Add Episode Details

Fill out the video information fields carefully. Clear episode details help viewers understand the episode and help GEN7 Outdoors review and organize approved programming.

Recommended title format: [Show Name] – [Episode Title]
Example: Backwoods Life – Late Season Whitetail Hunt
Recommended subtitle format: Season 1, Episode 3

  • Add a clear video title.
  • Add a subtitle, such as season and episode number.
  • Write a description that tells viewers what the episode is about.
  • Select the category created by our team on your account.
  • Add relevant keywords related to the episode, show, species, location, topic, or outdoor category.

Step 6

Save and Wait for Processing

After your episode details are saved, the video may enter transcoding or processing. Processing time may vary depending on the length of the video, file size, and platform activity.

Review Your Uploaded Episode

After uploading and processing, review your uploaded video in the creator portal. Check that the episode title, subtitle, description, category, keywords, and thumbnail information look correct.

Step 8

Set or Update the Thumbnail

To select a thumbnail from your video, choose the scene from your video that you would like to use as the thumbnail. Click the blue camera icon. A popup screen will appear. If the image is correct, click Apply.

You can also upload a custom thumbnail by clicking the Edit tab, opening the Appearance section, clicking Upload, and then saving your changes.

Thumbnails should be clear, professional, accurately represent the episode, and fit the GEN7 standard.

Use the Edit tab and Appearance section to upload a custom thumbnail if needed.

Step 9

Check Reports When Available

Reports are available under the Reports tab in the top menu. Available reporting details may vary based on platform data, viewer activity, system availability, and GEN7 Outdoors reporting tools.

Use reports to review available performance information for your approved programming. If something does not look right or you have questions about the data, contact GEN7 Outdoors before making changes inside the portal.

GEN7 Outdoors Brand Assets

Approved creators may use GEN7 Outdoors logos and brand assets when promoting their show’s availability on GEN7 Outdoors, as long as usage fits the GEN7 brand and does not imply unapproved sponsorship or endorsement.

Final Upload Checklist

Before Uploading, Make Sure Your Episode:

Episode File Checklist

  • Is exported in the correct format.
  • Is horizontal 16:9 video.
  • Uses a clear title and description.
  • Includes relevant keywords.
  • Is ready for review.

GEN7 Standard Checklist

  • Has no embedded ads, baked-in commercials, sponsor reads, or outside promotional spots unless approved.
  • Fits the GEN7 content standard.
  • Is appropriate for a family-friendly outdoor streaming network.
  • Represents authentic outdoor programming.
  • Is GEN7-ready before submission.
