Creator Upload Guide
This guide walks approved GEN7 Outdoors creators through uploading GEN7-ready episodes into the creator content portal for review, approval, and distribution across GEN7 Outdoors platforms.
GEN7Outdoors.com is the business, brand, creator, news, sponsor, and company website. GEN7tv.com is the web app where viewers watch GEN7 Outdoors online.
Important Creator Portal Notice
Creator portal accounts are connected to the live GEN7 Outdoors platform. Please only use the approved upload and account areas shown in this guide. Do not make changes to channel settings, playout schedules, pages, or other platform tools unless GEN7 Outdoors has specifically instructed you to do so.
Required Episode Information Format
Every creator must use the following format when entering episode information. Correct titles and complete descriptions help GEN7 Outdoors organize, promote, schedule, and distribute your content correctly.
Creator Upload Steps
Use the steps below to upload your episode, enter the required information, review processing, set a thumbnail, check reports, and prepare your content for GEN7 Outdoors review.
Log In to the Creator Portal
Log in to your approved GEN7 Outdoors creator account. Once inside the creator portal, navigate to your account dashboard and look for the approved account area shown below.
Only approved GEN7 Outdoors creators should access the creator content portal. Use the login and account areas provided by GEN7 Outdoors.
Open Your Video Dashboard
From your account area, open the approved video dashboard. This is where you will upload GEN7-ready episodes and manage videos that you have already submitted.
Upload Your Episode File
Use the upload screen to drag and drop your episode file or choose the file from your computer. Make sure the video has been completely exported and reviewed before uploading it.
Manage Recent Uploads
After the initial upload finishes, open the Manage Recent Uploads area to continue setting up your episode. This is where you can locate the uploaded file and continue entering or reviewing the information required by GEN7 Outdoors.
Add Episode Details
Carefully complete every required information field. Correct episode titles, subtitles, and descriptions help viewers understand the content and allow GEN7 Outdoors to properly review, organize, promote, schedule, and distribute approved programming.
Required Formatting — Please Follow Exactly
Do not use only the episode name, only your creator name, or a season and episode number as the title. The title must include the video name first and your creator brand name second, separated by a vertical line.
- Enter the video name first in the Title field.

- Write one complete sentence in the Subtitle field.
- Write a detailed Description containing at least three complete sentences.
- Select the category created by the GEN7 Outdoors team for your account.
- Add relevant keywords for the topic, activity, species, location, creator brand, or outdoor category.
- Check spelling, capitalization, and punctuation before saving.
Important: Videos with incomplete titles, missing creator brand names, one-word subtitles, or descriptions shorter than three sentences may need to be corrected before they can be reviewed or scheduled.
Save and Wait for Processing
After entering the required episode information, save your changes. The video may then enter a transcoding or processing stage. Processing time can vary depending on the video file, file size, and current platform activity.
Do not repeatedly upload the same video while the original file is processing. Allow the platform time to complete processing before contacting GEN7 Outdoors or attempting another upload.
Review Your Uploaded Episode
After processing is complete, open the uploaded episode and carefully review all information. Confirm that the video plays correctly and that the title, subtitle, description, category, keywords, and thumbnail are complete and accurate.
- Confirm that the correct video file was uploaded.
- Confirm that the video plays correctly.

- Confirm the subtitle is one complete sentence.
- Confirm the description contains at least three complete sentences.
- Confirm the correct category and relevant keywords are included.
- Confirm that an appropriate thumbnail has been selected or uploaded.
Set or Update the Thumbnail
Every uploaded episode should have a clear and professional thumbnail. There are two approved ways to set or update the thumbnail in the creator portal.
Select an Image from the Video
Click the blue camera icon to open the thumbnail selection tool. Choose an appropriate frame from the uploaded video, confirm the selected image, and apply the change.
Upload a Custom Thumbnail
Open the Settings tab and use the thumbnail upload option to upload a custom 1920 × 1080 horizontal thumbnail image. Save the changes after the image has been uploaded.
Custom thumbnail size: 1920 × 1080 pixels in a 16:9 horizontal format. Use a clear, high-quality image that accurately represents the episode and remains easy to understand on televisions, phones, tablets, and computers.

- Make sure important subjects are visible and not cut off.
- Do not use misleading images or unapproved promotional graphics.
- Save or apply the thumbnail before leaving the page.
Check Reports When Available
Reports are available under the Reports tab in the top menu. Available reporting details may vary based on platform data, viewer activity, system availability, and GEN7 Outdoors reporting tools.
Use reports to review available performance information for your approved programming. If something does not look right or you have questions about the data, contact GEN7 Outdoors before making changes inside the portal.
GEN7 Outdoors Brand Assets
Approved creators may use GEN7 Outdoors logos and brand assets when promoting their show’s availability on GEN7 Outdoors, as long as usage fits the GEN7 brand and does not imply an unapproved sponsorship or endorsement.
Before Uploading, Make Sure Your Episode:

- Uses the exact title format: Video Name | Creator Brand Name.
- Includes one complete sentence in the Subtitle field.
- Includes a detailed Description of at least three complete sentences.
- Uses correct spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
- Includes the correct category and relevant keywords.
- Has a clear and appropriate episode thumbnail.
Episode File Checklist
- Is exported in an approved video format.
- Uses a horizontal 16:9 layout.
- Has been reviewed before uploading.
- Plays correctly after processing.
- Is the correct and complete episode file.
- Is ready for GEN7 Outdoors review.
Thumbnail Checklist
- Accurately represents the episode.
- Is clear and professional.
- Uses a 16:9 horizontal layout.
- Is 1920 × 1080 pixels when using a custom image.
- Does not contain misleading or unapproved promotional material.
- Has been applied or saved successfully.
GEN7 Standard Checklist
- Has no embedded ads, baked-in commercials, sponsor reads, or outside promotional spots unless approved.
- Fits the GEN7 Outdoors content standard.
- Is appropriate for a family-friendly outdoor streaming network.
- Represents authentic outdoor programming.
- Does not contain unapproved copyrighted content.
- Is GEN7-ready before submission.
